The last year was tough, for a while there we couldn’t see the end of it, but with Boris’ roadmap well under way, life is being rephased back to a (new) normal. How did Covid affect your finances? Has it made you re-assess your cash-flow and are you open to considering other investment options for future financial security?
Have you been tightening your belt?
For many, personal finances have been incredibly stressful over the past 12 months. Those who are self-employed with no guaranteed income have experienced a time of drastic belt-tightening and battening down of the hatches. But now, with many restrictions beginning to ease and the vaccinated population increasing day by day, we hope you can finally start to breathe again and possibly, tentatively, let hope grow.
So, with optimism in mind, and a ‘we got through Covid’ attitude, Lloyd & Whyte can help you consider the investment options open to you and assess whether as savers and investors you can give a little something back to the planet whilst still making the most of your money. Pensions and ISAs can both be invested in a green and ethical way, and as chartered financial advisors we can help you navigate this newer, green-bricked road.
Have you heard of SRI investing?
There are lots of names out there all with the same common goal; Green Investing, Socially Responsible Investing (SRI) or Environmental Social Governance (ESG) to name but a few. SRI allows you to benefit from potential investment growth whilst knowing at the same time that your investments are aligned with the causes that you care about. SRI steers clear of companies which violates human rights, cause damage to the environment, or involve animal testing. The major benefit of investing your savings into an SRI fund is the positive impact it could have on your conscience combined with the feel-good factor that not only is your money growing for you, it is also doing good for the planet.
Looking in the rear-view mirror gives us the opportunity to reflect and perhaps have a think about if there was anything we would have done differently. In a bizarre twist, Covid has taught us a lot about future-proofing our savings.
Whilst there is a whole universe of options and choices that can be made to align to a specific belief or ideal, there are also those who just want to know that they are doing the right thing, of having the option of “going green” in a well-managed and easy to follow way. In many cases, people want to know that their money is invested in a responsible, beneficial way, that your money is working hard for you, but also in a way that will help others and the planet. If would like to discuss this, and other investment opportunities, our Independent Financial Advisers (IFA’s) are on hand to discuss the various options open to you. We’ll look at your finances and work out where and how it is best to invest.
